Safety is a must for passengers when it comes to the vehicle. That's why seat belts come installed in the vehicle from the manufacturer for adults and for older children. As for younger children including infants, its our responsibility to use proper car seats for the little ones. Please find information listed below for car seats in Ontario:
Infant Car Seat
Under Ontario's Highway Traffic Act, infants must use a rear-facing car seat until they weigh at least 9 kg (20 lb.).
Front Facing Toddler Seat
Under the Highway Traffic Act, children must use a forward-facing child car seat when they weigh between 9 kg - 18 kg (20-40 lb.)
Booster Seat
Booster seat is required if the child is under the age of eight, weighs between 18 - 36 kg (40-80 lb.), and is less than 145 cm (4 feet-9 inches) tall.
